ISO 45001 – A Milestone to Achieve
Since one of our core values is safety, Eagle Steel Solutions started recently the process of getting the ISO 45001:2018 certification. For anyone who isn’t familiar with these terms, here is a short explanation.
Simply put, ISO 45001 aims at keeping everyone safe at the workplace and by doing so, drastically changing the work environment towards the best. This certification is a set of guidelines that prevent work accidents, some of which are in some cases fatal. ISO 45001 is the new ISO standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) with the main concern to help organizations control all factors that might contribute to the injury of employees engaging in work activities. It is the World’s first international standard dealing with health and safety at work and is different in many aspects from previous standards.
We are eagerly pursuing this certification in order to add a milestone to our company, but mostly to ensure an all-safety feature for our workers. We strive to provide a healthy work environment free of injuries and accidents, especially common in the construction field since we handle dangerous material and equipment on a daily basis. However, engaging in the process of getting the ISO 45001 has opened our eyes to many ways that provide a safe workplace and prevent our workers from getting hurt on the job.
